How Fest Works

The Nashville Songwriters Festival is open to everyone!  It doesn't matter who you are or what level your musical interest or connection is. You only need to register.

Here are a few procedures, rules, tid bits, suggestions and advice we recommend for participating in certain phases of the festival listed below.

All festival badge holders are automatically registered to attend and participate in the various parties, classes, specialty needs rooms and other educational happenings at the Fest. Go to one or all at your own pace!

Attendees should pre register and pick up their passes and merchandise when they arrive at the festival by checking in at the Fest Info Booth located in the Music Row Best Western.

Registering for the Fest

All festival badge holders are automatically registered to attend and participate in the various parties, classes, specialty needs rooms and other educational happenings at the Fest. Go to one or all at your own pace!

 Registering for the Fest Using Check, Debit, Credit Card by Phone or Postal Mail.

When Registering online, select either an "All Access Badge or General Admission" for the number of days you are attending the Fest and "Add to Cart".

Then select "Continue Shopping" option and get the number of General Admissions persons accompanying you. 

You can "update" your cart amount of the number of Badges or General Admissions once inside using the "Update/Remove" feature.

Complete the check out process with check, debit or credit card using "Check Out" button or with the "PayPal" button.

Attending As A Non Performing Songwriter Or Industry. What Can I Do?

If you are a Non Performing Songwriter or Industry you can...

Participate in the Music Specialty Areas, Display your CD's at the Writer's Table, utilize the Drop Box. Plus if you change your mind and want to play, you can join in the Create-A-Rounds,  After Hours Sing Ring. A Non Performing Writer has "All Access" privileges.

Pick your passes up and other merchandise at the Fest Info Booth located near the main stage.

Definitely bring plenty of samples of your work, business cards, press kits, etc... to share with others.

Attending As A General Admission

Come hear the hits of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Meet the people who make the music. Memories of a lifetime in one weekend.

Bring your sweetie and come lounge around and discover where it all begins.

Pick up your armbands when you arrive at the Fest Info Booth.

Armbands can be purchased in advance or at the fest.

Armband holders have access to stage viewing areas, booths and other festival grounds.General Admission passes go here...

 
 

Performance Specifics: Attending As A Performing Songwriter

Performing Songwriters will be scheduled on specific stages to play 3 songs on a different stages for each day you attend as a registered performing writer. You may stand or use chairs, play an instrument  or sing to tracks. 

Original songs, lyrics and music only. Co writes acceptable or songs written by family members.

If you are a registered writer and have someone accompanying you, they will need to have a general admissions pass. For Bands, One Writers Pass and general admission passes for each band member will be required. If everyone wants their own slots then they will need to obtain separate writers passes.

The Play Schedule will be posted online, emailed to you and press released May 15th.

Please check in near the sound board at the stage you are scheduled to play at 30 minutes in advance of your slot.

Attending As A Volunteer And Enjoying The Fest Activities Too

Volunteering usually involves people managing skills like getting writers ready to go on stage or MCing to other light people duties, So relax, be yourself and have fun.

Volunteers can fully participate at any or all Fest functions. We will work your volunteer duties around your festival activities you specify.

Volunteers report to their station 30 minutes prior to their assignments.

Pick Up You Passes & Gear When You Arrive

The Festival Information Booth is located in the lounge area of the Music Row Best Western..

At your leisure, when you arrive at the fest, stop by and pick up your passes, as questions, get your pre ordered merchandise, maps or check out the items to be raffled, etc.. 

The Fest Info Booth will open 8am Friday and be available the whole time the stages are open for the duration of the fest..
