Featured Writer Peggy Mercer

Peggy Mercer is a New York published award winning author of children's books and a BMI songwriter with songs cut by well known singers and other projects forthcoming. Her songs are on top of various Indie charts including IAC and IMN etc.

One upcoming project includes a song written with a songwriter's Hall of Famer for Hannah Davis. Other projects are for rising stars Keith Whitley, Amber Gilliard and Billy Garner and more.

She has been nominated for Georgia Author of the Year as well as a Christopher and a Newberry medal.

Peggy is an aggressive promoter of reading among underserved children and passionate about preserving true country music.  "A Great Song Will Find a Way".

She is the author of the wildly popular TEN COWS TO TEXAS and the beautifully illustrated non-fiction story set in World War II, THERE COME A SOLDIER. Her new book due out in early fall is called PEACH WHEN THE WELL RUN DRY

She is a songwriting teacher and will be speaking and teaching at festivals across the country this summer. "She previously taught children and adults in public schools and behavior change programs. During her teaching years she influenced over 5,000 students.
